What set up have you got? Do you have just panels & inverter or do you have a battery as well?

Youngme15 great. Hopefully your installation went smoothly and the installer explained a lot of the basics. If they didn't tell you, your battery will do a commissioning discharge and full charge (which may be from the grid depending on how sunny it is) to set its lower and upper limits.

How you run the system depends on what you want to do:

if you want to maximise your battery charge and use the battery to power your home overnight you're best leaving it in Eco mode (My Inverter > Settings).
If you have an EV and don't want all the battery to go in to it you can also set a timed charge to xx% (your choosing) which should prevent full discharge of the battery and keep some for your home use.

You can enter your tariff data, either manually or some suppliers allow you to link your account. This way you can see how much your import and export energy is.

One user here ( @hoggy ) has created a Wiki which has some really useful information and they and other forum members will be adding to it over time (https://wiki.terravolt.co.uk/).

Have a read through the knowledgebase (https://kb.givenergy.cloud/) which might seem a bit technical but does have some good reading material.

Finally, once you get your MCS certificate through make sure you register with a supplier for export payments. Not sure who you're with but Octopus is good if you're an import customer of theirs. Other suppliers will pay you differing amounts (fairly low tbh).

Our battery isn’t seeming to be lasting long… I’m assuming it’s because it’s not had a full days charge? It’s scaring me to be fair. I’m worried we haven’t got the right size battery.

Youngme15 I have 12 panels (6 south, 6 west) and today I generated just over 9kWh - we have used about 11.5kWh in the house, so the battery (8.2Kwh is flat again - and didn't get above 48% charged - but the battery does shift usage which for me is the point!

In the summer (Not July it was too hot!) I did generate 30kWh
