Getting a second inverter fitted in a few weeks to my existing set up with 2 x 9.5kwh batteries.
Looking at my daily energy usage, am thinking about a 3rd 9.5kwh battery which would more completely cover my usage in cloudy/miserable/winter days. With the 7.5p/kw vs peak rate, this becomes pretty compelling quite quickly.
One niggle I've got is Givenergy seems to be a bit buggy at the moment, so would I have any issues with 2 inverters trying to charge 3 batteries? I know @Tim you have a split setup, so imagine I'd have to have one inverter charging two batteries and one charging only one?
Then there's the imminent EMS device that 'should' solve this??
Just curious if any advice!

You could have the Master with 2 x 9.5s but can you charge 19kwh in your charge window?
Then the slave with 1 9.5
Would mean that once the slave is flat, you will be down to 3kw available power for the remainder of the 2nd half of the Masters battery life. WOuld be better to balance them

alphabeta77 I'd be interested to hear what the EMS brings to the party for hybrids. The additional battery capacity will be useful; I just hope you don't have any differential SoC issues seen by others with more than one battery on an inverter. The charge window could be an issue if you're on gen1 hybrid; less so if it's a gen 2.
Well with 2 X Gen 2 hybrid inverters I'm assuming I can charge 7.2 kWh per hour, so 28.8kwh of potential charge in the four hours on agile? Please shout if my maths is off though!
Yes agree that's exactly my niggle - I've currently got two batteries on one inverter and they work perfectly, so technically I'd just be adding one inverter and a single battery to that, but I can't help but think the 'lopsided' nature would confuse Givenergy's software...
If the EMS does what it's promised to do, then it should moreorless resolve this
You could with 2 9.5 get 14.4kwh into it from grid. The rest would have to come from sun.
If you had 5 hours you could fully charge balanced 2x2 9.5s
In 4 to fully charge and be balanced
9.5 and 5.2 on each inverter
Yes, I'm tempted to just whack another battery in there, but also have two EVs with 100kwh of batteries, so can see myself pointing a fair bit of solar generation towards them, hence I think 3 x 9.5kwh feels a sweet spot.
