Morning All,

New to the community and been reading through some of the forum which has been really helpful. Quick question about timed discharge - from what I'm seeing the battery is discharging at full power, regardless of load during the time windows. From the documentation it's not clear if this is correct or if it should adapt to the load on the house. For example, even when getting up in the morning when there is literally nothing turned on, it's discharging at almost 2.5kW. Can anyone clarify if this is the correct behaviour?

milkycgs Welcome to GE forums. It sounds like your timed discharge is working like timed export should work. Does the dashboard show all that power as export for that period?

milkycgs When operating in ECO (Mode 1) the battery will charge/discharge at UP TO the maximum charge/discharge rates set in remote control. The actual charge/discharge rate at any given time will vary according to the amount of renewable energy available and the house load as the system is continuously trying to minimise grid import/export. If you set a timed charge/discharge you are taking over manual control for the set time period and the battery will charge/discharge AT the maximum charge/discharge rate set in remote control, until the battery reaches the upper or lower limit set in remote control or until the set time period ends.

Ok perfect, so I guess what I needed in summary was is the battery discharge dynamic in the timed discharge mode which you've said isn't the case and will only output at full. I wanted to have the battery only used as much as needed within the 2 time windows in timed discharge mode but if this isn't the case then I'll switch it back to ECO mode.

milkycgs My reply to your original post refers to the situation where the system is set to ECO Mode (equivalent to Mode 1 on legacy cloud) and timed charge/discharge is being initiated by changing parameters within remote control. Your latest reply suggests that you have been selecting timed discharge by changing mode. I do not know if you have been using the beta cloud or legacy cloud to do this but on the legacy cloud, Mode 3 is "Timed Battery Discharge to meet Demand" and may be worth a try if you have not already done so.

In the mew mode, what are the settings to force an equivalent of MODE3?

I am finding that if the battery gets fully charged between 00:00 and 05:30 it starts to discharge to meet any demand. It should have stayed 'dormant' till 05:30 then discharged to meet demand till 23:30.

I set charge from 00:00 to 05:25 and set discharge from 05:35 to 23:30

But it basically ignores that. SO each night I set the battery wattage to 0 watts discharge at 23:30 (ish) and then set it back to 3000 around 06:30 when I wake up. I would prefer it worked as it used to do under the old mechanism.

Any ideas?

anabanet Sounds like there might be a bit of an old v new portal hangover happening here.

In the new portal the following should work:

  1. Set to ECO
  2. Set Timed Charge between 0000 and 0530

And that's it. The equivalent of a mode 3 timed discharge outside of the charge hours you set. The discharge hours you set should be redundant.

The should be no battery discharge during the timed charge window. If that's happening I would restart the inverter.
