After I finished commissioning an AC coupled + 9.5kwh battery (existing solar pv) I was told the battery would go through a calibration mode.
How do we know when this has completed?
Currently some 20 hours later the solar and battery is feeding the grid and not the house load?

It takes a day or 2 to complete.
If I recall it has to charge/discharge/charge to work out how much capacity is in the battery cells so that the BMS (Battery Management System) can then keep track of charge/discharge %.

It might just be worth checking that it has been left in Eco mode (use the GE Portal to do this, rather than the App.), with no other settings activated. Select My Inverter on the left, and then select Remote Control (the cog on the right of your inverter entry).
There is also a restore defaults, but I am not sure where that is, which should do the same thing.
I believe you should get a notification in the top right of the Portal, once the calibration has finished.
Mine was commissioned yesterday and the battery fully discharged (to 4%) and then fully charged (100%) last night, then sent a notification to the GE portal that it had finished calibration.
Was just about to ask this as mine started yesterday. At 22 hours I was looking here. The message came through just afterwards. All OK now.
I had an installation on 6th Feb, Gen2 Inverter and 5.2 Battery. Battery calibrated first day, second day went from 3% to 100% and told it was fine. Of course later on that day it started to discharge and went straight to 3%. Same again next day, told it was now a firmware issue, calibrated again. Day 3 went to 80% and then jumped to 100%. Told to turn it off and on, now battery won't turn on when isolater switch between it and the inverter are on. Second installer came out and noticed lose wire in the isolater.
Two weeks later from installation, still waiting for a response from combined installer and Givenergy technical. Solar working but battery not.
Did you work out what was wrong with your batter?
stevesheff I'm perplexed that between Givenergy and the installer, they cannot decide what to do about a loose wire! Either the isolator is faulty and should be swapped out, or the cables should be re-terminated and tightened. I can understand that they may have decided on a swap out and are awaiting delivery of the new isolator, but surely they could have told you that? Either way, I'd be cheesed off if it wasn't resolved and battery in service today or this week at the latest.

I agree, they really should have actioned it sooner but Installer wants to pass it on to Givenergy and they have a 2/3 week delay for call outs.
Problem is it has been 1 week plus and they can't even respond with when I might get a visit.
Feels very like they are massively over worked to the number of staff they have.
There should not be any isolator between the battery and inverter. The battery and inverter should connect with a GA cable.
The isolator is on the side of the battery.
I would suggest this is a GE issue as it will have been installed during manufacture, but it is it a faulty isolator or does it just need the case to be taken off and the loose wire connected?
If there is a clicking noise from the inverter when the battery idolater switch is turned on and the battery fails to turn on there be damage to the c omms board in the inverter which can also fry the battery BMS.,...both of which had to be replaced on my system.

Well I stand corrected according to the 3600 HY manual.
My 5.0 Gen1 does not have anything between battery and inverter.
Installer is hopefully coming on Tuesday to complete EPS (after 4 months!!)

The OP @Subaru , has a 9.5 kWh battery, with DC MCB built-in.

So if the external isolator is faulty or not correctly connected (loose wire), that is an installer issue and the loose wire should be connected by the installer or a replacement isolator picked up from the nearest supplier.

The installer doesn't want to try anything itself, they have passed the buck onto Givenergy even though it is probable that they didn't wire it up properly in the first place, or at least a combination of the two, isolator wiring and something not quite right with the battery and or Inverter.
I reckon if both parties actually turned up they could find the issue and sort it in an hour. However they can't coordinate that kind of response together and over a week later I am left in some queue with Givenergy technical, awaiting a miracle.

yes the isolator was clicking, possibly due to the loose wiring and I expect something might have been damaged because of that and that is why Givenergy needs to come out rather than just the installer.
However I am not going to accept that they now repair the Inverter and or Battery. The fault happened on day1 and I paid for new components, not re-furbished or fixed ones.
Reckon there is going to be some discussion when they finally do turn up.
The clicking noise is not a good sign. My inverter was simply swapped out as this is far simpler than trying to replace communication board. However, a new BMS board was fitted to my existing battery and this only took about 5 Mins. Just make sure if a new BMS is fitted it is set up correctly with the correct serial no. to reflect your system otherwise you could end up with reduced capacity. Fortunately GE spotted this issue and rectified it a couple of weeks after the replacement BMS was installed.
GE will not send out an engineer until the installer has paid them a fixed call out fee. This is repayable if the installer is not at fault, so make sure this has been paid.
