Anyone know how to get my batteries to charge please? Neither the quick action buttons nor setting a timescale seems to work anymore (via app or online)! Both options worked fine Thursday.
Batteries not charging
Have a read of this thread that should help - 5th Post
If all else fails start from scratch. Use the portal, rather than the app. Reset to default, Set ECO, set timed charge (if you have a split tariff).
The above should charge from solar (if there is excess over load), charge from grid during the set period (if set) and import from grid to load only when load is in excess of battery discharge (or battery is exhausted).
Thanks, but none of that worked. I tried the inverter reset & even clicked on 'reset to defaults' when that didn't work. When I set a timed charge via the pc or use the charge button via the App the inverter remains idle.
I've also noticed the battery is at 0% even though its set to stop at 4%!
Any ideas please?
Call GivEnergy support - or use the chat option which is often better. They can take a look at your system and maybe diganose what is up.
Check that the trips haven't gone between the batteries and the inverter.
It might also help to explain a bit about the system you have, as different systems have different peculiarities.
If you check in the Portal, are you seeing data for the batteries ('Inverter/s' then 'Inverter Data'), like the voltage? What is the Portal saying for the Inverter status?
One of mine was not charging this morning, which was probably a hangover from the system being powered down yesterday - but I only noticed once the solar started to generate energy. Nothing worked for me (inverter resets, power cycling, revert to defaults etc.) until I tried to force charge the battery from the grid, at which point it sprang back to life.
cluelesscris many thanks. I couldn't find a chat option, but have emailed them
ToothyChris thanks for your support.
I have 10 panels, 3x 0.5kWh batteries & a GIV-AC3.0 inverter. I've reset the inverter & done the 'restore factory settings' as well as manually turning every switch I could find off & back on!
The inverter states it's idle & at 0v with the batteries also showing 0v, although 2 of the batteries have 2 green charge indicator lights on them & only one has no charge lights (only the on light).
Any solar power is going to the home demand or exporting to the grid & none is going to battery.
If the battery/batteries are showing 0V (in both the app and the portal?) Then I would be double cheching the trips between the batteries and the inverter (usually green switches in a box with a clear front, which from memory need to be up, to be connected)
LangdaleSG4 chat is available on the “contact us” page but only during office hours

LangdaleSG4 This sounds like exactly the problem I've got too, ever since my system was commissioned 20 days ago. Be interested to know how you get on!
ToothyChris thanks, trip switches are definately on as I turned them and everything else of & then back in again to see if a manual reset helped!
Hmmmmmm. Are there LEDs illuminated on the front of the battery, to show that it is on? If not, then press the small black button near the top, on the right panel of the enclosure.
