Battery drops all the way to zero before immediately charging to 5%

Hello, I've recently had my 9.5kWh battery installed, and I'm very impressed so far.

One bit of odd behaviour that I've noticed is that when the battery depletes it drops to zero then instantly charges back to 5%, despite my charging being limited to between 00:30 and 04:30. I have the reserve set to 4%, so it is charging to 1% above that setting, and also being allowed to drop below that setting, so I'm not sure I understand what that reserve means.

I'm mainly wondering about the health of the battery. If the reserve is to prevent it discharging to zero to protect the battery, then should I be concerned? You can see a screenshot of the behaviour here:

JamesT Looks like the SOC issue. New battery firmware is due out this Friday to address this.

JamesT The 4% reserve is not a setting that the end user can reduce although you can increase it if you wish. Increasing the reserve seems to work OK on hybrid inverters but not on AC-connected, although a firmware fix has been made. The reserve is to enable the inverter to be powered in the event of a power cut so it can spring back into life when power is restored. However, there are issues with the SoC dropping suddenly or slowly, if the AC supply has been disconnected. Once the inverter detects 0% SoC, it charges itself from the grid (if available).

I'm having instances of the batteries going below 4% to 3% but not automatically force charging back to 4%. GE are aware and have updated my inverter firmaware but that has not worked. Hoping the new firmware on the 16th will sort it.

chris_p Is there more information available on this issue somewhere? I did have a glance over the community topics but couldn't see a related one.

I think the important bit to know is that a new battery firmware is in development and early testing is reported to be going well (although we have heard that a few times already over the previous 4-6 months to be honest). It is due out this Friday, but again deadlines have been missed numerous times. Apologies for sounding sceptical but it hasn't been a fun ride.
