Hello,
I have recently had installed a GIV-HY5.0 with an 8.2 GE battery. I have Eco switched on and also forced charge between 02:00 to 06:00 (my cheap hours with bulb)
My ground mount panels are heavily shaded (moving shade) due to low angle of sun and surrounding trees plus shade from other panels again due to low angle of sun. Throughout most of the year, this will not be a problem but currently with low sun, it is what it is. I'm not sure if this relevant to my questions, but details. So currently they only generate between 150 to 700W per hour.
First question. As its new I spend a lot of time looking at the numbers coming in and out. It quite often seems to send excess solar and sometimes some from the battery to the grid rather than to charging my batteries. Obviously not large amounts due to my low generation but anywhere between 30 to 180 W. I'd obviously much rather that was going to the battery though! Other times it does correctly send energy to the battery. Is there something wrong with the system for it to be sending to the grid when the battery is no where near fully charged?
Second question. Often the numbers do not add up on the APP. As a made up example it will say that I'm using 500w and yet the solar is producing 240w the battery is sending 327w and its drawing 50w from the grid. So far more electricity is being supplied than what the APP is saying I'm using. What's going on here?
Last question for now. My battery outputs a maximum of 2.6kw. When using shower, boiling kettle or cooking dinner etc the excess is drawn from the grid. Does adding a second battery increase the total output, so you can do more at once without drawing from the grid or just the total storage?
Thank you.
