ECO mode, but exporting

I just had my Givenergy 9.5kwh battery and solar panels installed this week.
My inverter is set to ECO mode, with timed charging at night (Octopus GO)
I'm wondering why sometimes I'm exporting energy rather than charging the battery during the daytime, e.g. right now I'm exporting at 100w. Yesterday it did the same for a while and eventually did charge the battery, so it seems a bit random?

I've just questioned that in my post. I'm having the same issue. Different energy company, but I don't think that's a factor.

Ulven I had the issue yesterday I took it out of ECO mode and then put it back in again and shortly after it seemed to work, not sure if this is related or not

Because it takes a while for the system to recognize that there's surplus energy that ought to be going to the battery...on top of which it doesn't kick in until that surplus is greater than approx. 100w anyway...

tsouthwell inverters take a short time to ramp up/down based on demand so expect small levels of import and export as it identifies where the energy you're using is needed or going
