For nearly 12 months my car has successfully been charged on Octopus Go on the 12.30 to 04.30 cheap rate slot using the Eco + setting. I recently had solar panels installed plus GivEnergy inverter, and the charging continued to work in this way, with the bonus of some solar Zappi charging when surplus solar was available. I've now just had a GivEnergy dc battery added and although the Zappi still says 'waiting for surplus' overnight it has stopped adding any charge. I suspect obviously that it is something to do with the dc battery, but wonder if there is a setting I should change somewhere? The dc battery does charge overnight during the economy period.. Thanks in advance!

If this only started last night, it was probably related to the GE server outage for several hours this morning.

Thanks for the reply. I've had the issue for two nights now, and the GivEnergy battery did charge last night..

Don't know if you have automations enabled but we have to do a scheduled charge each night to get the Zappi to charge the EV as well as having it in ECO+ (plus MGL=100%, minimum export =about 100W and time delay of 20 seconds) to soak up the diverted export during the day.

Check that your Octopus automations are set (if that's what you had before), but your Givenergy battery may also charge to 100%. If you want to use the Givenergy scheduler, just leave the Zappi in ECO+ for daytime export divert, set a schedule Zappi charge for the same period as your Octopus Go and set your Givenergy timed charge to the same period, with the Charge to % set to whatever you want in the house battery at the end of the period.

Tim Thanks for the info. I'm not sure what the 'automations' are? The only things I have set up since the dc battery was installed was to set the battery to charge from grid plus solar, and time the battery charge between 00.30 and 04.30.
It's interesting that you do a scheduled zappi charge, and I didn't realise that you can leave the Zappi on Eco+ and still program a scheduled Zappi charge as well? If that's the case then I will start doing the same. Many thanks again!
