Just purchased the extra warranty to provide 10yr cover.
But would it not be a better marketing tool that they came with 10yr warranty as standard ?
cheers

I guess its not that simple, as they need to keep a stock of spare parts for that product for 10 years after that product goes end of life etc. I know from other posts they have new inverters coming as well. Maybe new units will come with 10 years as standard but I expect that depends on a lot of factors mainly around cost of spares.
Do you mind me asking what the cost is? I can’t find any details about it anywhere.
GE sales said I needed to contact my installer but suggested the price would be in the region of "a couple of hundred pounds"
c_squared £240 inc VAT. https://midsummerwholesale.co.uk/buy/giv-energy/giv-warranty. ring them up and purchase over the phone otherwise you'll have to pay postage.
Midsummer will ask for your serial number. They will pass details onto Giv and they will register it.
THALL If they are providing the option to purchase an extra warranty to take it to 10 years then it doesn't matter how the 10years is provided for warranty repairs/repacement.
I would expect that after 5 years they would probably look to replace rather than repair due to advancements in technology.
chris_p Same here. my installer just said to purchase direct from midsummer.

makse Not sure about that, surely that would be a financial loss to replace the inverter in year 6 - 10 for £240 upfront? Surely holding a stock of spares for a period makes more financial sense? I do not work in the area of warranty replacement so I could be wrong.
Panels, battery and inverter all installed about 6 weeks ago.
My installer managed to get my extended warranty done via the distributor in about 10 days.
The inverter page on the dashboard shows warranty expiry date 2032, but is there anywhere on the dashbaord about battery warranty dates.
