Spike in charge

My batteries (2x 9.5) were merrily charging in the sunshine, gradually increased from 60% to 72%, then in the space of 10 mins suddenly jumped to 100%, does anyone know why this might have happened? It would not have naturally charged that fast by solar (or grid).
