Hi,

I currently have my system set at charging/discharging the batteries at 2.6 kW and they do discharge at that rate when the demand is there. My question is why they are only charging at 2.42 kW during their timed overnight charge? Is it a temperature thing (they are indoors and were around 14/15 degrees when charging last night)?

I have two, A 9.5 kWh and a Gen1 5.2 kWh. Gen 1 5kW hybrid inverter.

JMalcolm I do see a slight drop on my system. I have an AC3 and when grid charging it reports 2910w. But 2420w seems lower than I would expect? Sorry I can not be of more help than that.

When charging the battery with AC there are conversion losses of around 7%, so 2600W (GEN1) x 0.93 = 2418W you are seeing displayed.

When charging from DC (solar) then the losses are lower.

athresuk Makes sense. But would the conversion from DC to AC when the battery is supplying the load not have the same losses? Regularly see the battery supplying 2.6 kW.

JMalcolm indeed it would, but the data is the DC power flow in/out the battery so when discharging you are not seeing the losses.

My AC 3 charges my 9.5kWhr battery at 2800w yet the battery discharges to system at 3300w. Both charge and discharge are set at 3000w. Go figure.
