Does anyone know if a GivEnergy hybrid inverter would be able to charge its batteries using generation other than its own DC-connected inputs?
My theoretical setup would be the existing 5kW hybrid inverter (with a pair of 8.2kWh batteries), and another separate simple string inverter - possibly with some combination of more solar and a small turbine. This would be located down the garden, and I don’t see any likelihood of attaching batteries to it.
In such a setup, I imagine the GivEnergy hybrid inverter’s CT clamp would see the unused additional generation flowing out to the grid - would it start charging from this unexpected power source? Thinking about it, that must be how the AC-coupled battery inverter works, so can the hybrid do the same?
Having received approval under G99 for our 5kW export, what are the chances of a subsequent G99 (to a combined 10kW) being approved on a 100A single phase supply? (I know there are many factors, but in an ideal world, would that ever be possible.)
