Has anybody here done this, knows anything about it, can it be added to the givenergy solar system?
Wind turbine
By 'Done This' I assume you mean install a wind turbine? An AC coupled system does not care how the AC is generated so adding a wind turbine system will only need some way for the AC coupled inveter to know the generation in the same way that it would know the generation from Solar.
So I assume then that the givenergy inverter would allow this connection?
neil_hartup As I say an AC coupled inverter does not care how the AC is generated. There is no 'connection' between the inverter and the turbine system. If you have a hybrid inverter then the turbine would need to produce DC output which matches the DC input requirements. A domestic solar panel string produces 100-600v ish. A small wind turbine usually outputs 12-48V. There will be ways this lower voltage can be stepped up but that's the limit of my knowledge.

OK many thanks for the reply.
Presumably, the AC coupled inverter solution would see this excess generation as solar, as it has no way to tell how that excess is generated. So if you're wanting solar + wind, the givenergy solution will show it all as solar I believe. (The AC coupled anyway)

AN Ac coupled can monitor 2 sources of generation, EM115 ID2 & 3.
Have solar on one meter and Wind AC output on the other. Then you can see them seperatly in the GUI
hi Neil
did you connect a wind turbine to givenergy system
if so how did you do it
