hello
new user with GIV-HY5.0 inverter and Giv-Bat 9.5. System seems to set that maximum charge and discharge rate of 2600 w. Is this right I was expecting 5000w in and out of the battery.

From the GivEnergy online brochure, for the HY 5.0 Gen1 inverter:-

It is the a/c output to your consumer unit that has the 5000 W limit. This can be achieved with all solar generation, or a blend of solar generation and battery discharge, but the battery discharge is limited by the inverter to a maximum of 2600 W.

Rammie Building on @Simon_C's response, if you have PV in excess of 5kW and your battery is not fully charged, the gen1 HY5 can push up to 2.5kW PV to battery and up to 5kW PV to AC simultaneously: a theoretical maximum of up to 7.5kW. However, given that doing all this work would cause the inverter temperature to rise, how long it would do this for before it reached the upper temperature threshold and started to reduce output is another matter. Forced cooling would improve the situation. The gen 2 HY5 can push up to 3.6kW to battery and up to 5kW to AC simultaneously.
