@Adam-Reynolds any idea when the battery reserve issue will be fixed? I wrote to you about it on the 13 December and you intimated a FW fix was under development
Mine is still discharging down to 8% when it is set to 4%. On occasion it goes to 12%.
My Octopus Go Faster tariff is about to go from 13p to 30p the extra 4% saving would be nice :-)

13p to 30p, I know we will all be going through this sooner rather than later, maybe even worse than this. It’s one thing seeing it, it’s another actually paying for it. My fixed rate expires at the end of March.

THALL No it's a recognised bug that was under fix in the mail i received in December.

mjkelly5a I will need to go back and check my emails from support but I am sure I was told this was a calculation error only. Looking at my battery data on days in December with generation sub 1kw energy all of which went to the house my 8.2 battery discharged between 8.1 and 8.19 according to the data. Fully charged the night before from the grid.
'There is currently an issue with the battery power reserve for AC coupled we are looking into, a resolution should be available for this through our firmware updates in the beta portal.'

These are two seperate things, but I can see the confusion.
On one hand you do have what @THALL has stated with the percentage value sometimes not going as low as expected, the batteries operation is based on the actual voltage readings of the cells themselves. The percentage figure is a calibrated figure from the point of the state of charge calibration thats ran, after a number of cycles the percentage to cell voltage readings is becoming unaligned, overtime the % will again re-align itself so it is not service affecting, but a visual display error with the percentage, however as the throughput is based on the cells going to their upper and lower voltage limits however it does not affect how much you can actually put in/out the battery.
The second thing in relation to the power reserve @mjkelly5a is specific to the setting currently locked in the app, this is where customers would typically change the batteries reserve limits to 50% for instance if they know a storm is in the area and are potentially liable for a power cut, that setting is then set to reserve the battery so under normal operation it will not discharge below X value. This works in the new portal on the hybrids from my testing but I had seen that the AC coupled was in some cases going lower than the % figure that was stated, that is why we're working on a fix for that.

Thanks Adam-Reynolds the only suggestion I'd make is to provide some user feedback that an adjustment has been made, so at least we know that the "anomaly" was intentional.

@mjkelly5a Are you still encountering this issue? I believe I also have this issue, with the reserve limit being ignored on my AC Couple inverter. I've been back and forth with support for a few weeks, unable to get the issue accross.
The reserve limit is ignored, so the inverter discharges all the way to the cut-off limit, and then the EPS can't function as the inverter is at the cut-off limit.

ljames28 On Monday & Tuesday the SOC Reserve dropped from what has been a regular 8% reserve and is now at 5%: it is still set at 4% though.
Since then the solar has kept the battery well above the the reserve limit 😃 so I just hope it's back to normal

I have set my battery reserve to 25% as I want to test the house in grid failure mode for a couple of hours.
It shows it set at 25%, but it has currently drained itself after a nice sunny afternoon when it was up to 45%.
Now at 4% and Idle at 19:35

I wanted to reserve some energy for an Octopus/National Grid saving event at 5pm today. At about 8:50 this morning, I set the reserve level to 25% (SoC was 45%). At 5pm, I went to release the remainder of the energy to help the grid and the battery was flat. What did I do wrong?

barneyd nothing - this functionality just doesn't work properly.
For me, it works during the daytime but at some point in the afternoon it forgets the lower limit I have set and restarts discharging.
I've read that some people have certain (beta?) versions of firmware where this is fixed, but it is an important feature that should be working in all firmware.
