Our install is on an outside wall of the house. Whilst I am sure it would be very difficult to steal when we are home, even at night, what about if we go away. Has anyone thought about insurance for theft? Or is this something that's not really a concern.
I know the battery weighs 95kg so may be a bit tricky to lift...
Thanks
Pete
Home insurance fo4 battery and inverter.

Road2Ruin not sure many companies even ask about batteries. I declare my solar panels but haven't been asked about anything other than those.
Cdent Indeed. When you look at the max they will pay out though, for items outside the house, it doesn't cover the cost of the battery and inverter.

I have mentioned this to my insurance, and they did not ask about the price of it etc just noted it on my policy I had them. But I guess you can list them as items worth over £1000 like a fancy TV etc. But I doubt it would fall under the like for like replacement. All you can do is keep the invoice for the install to present should something happen.
Road2Ruin My insurer regards solar panels and batteries as part of the building - fixtures and fittings. I did not need to give them details.
