Hi all,
I have a fairly new installating and we're getting some sun for the first time in a while. We noticed the % charge of our 8.2 KWh battery jumped from 63% full to 100% full within a few minutes. Can anyone help explain to me what's happened here and why?

If you need any more details let me know and I'll post them.

I'd note a fix is "almost ready" - though it has been like that for a couple of months

As far as I can see, it's been "mostly ready" for at least 12 months....

thanks for the responses. I did a silly newbie thing and posted before reading some previous posts, I see it has been talked about 🙂

I think I saw talk of a beta firmware, out of interest, does anyone know how you get on a beta trial?

Strange it seems to happen with yours when the battery temp reaches 18 degrees. Same thing happens with mine. Not sure if the battery temp has any relevance, but if so it's not going to be fun when the weather actually warms up.

If you want to get it, at the moment its a manual load, so need someone at Giv with 20 mins of spare time.
email betatesting@givenergy.co.uk
Name, Inverter Serial number, battery make up and why you need the beta. it its a regular issue due to your non cycling fully charge profile (Most common reason for this cropping up)
Would be similar with any LFP battery. Not just limited to GivEnergy. As far as I know, Giv are the only ones acknowledging this and actually doing something about it.
