Two batteries, battery percentage

Hi folks,
I've two batteries a 9.5 and 5.2. all connected to gen 2 inverter since Saturday and calibration etc run. I've noticed in the app they charged to 97% this morning. Yesterday was 96. Before when I just had the 9.5 always charged to 100% is it just a side effect of two batteries? When I look in battery information 9.5 is showing as 97% 5.2 is showing as 92% I've noticed excess solar won't fill them above this figure, it's like the inverter sees them as full and exports power to the grid

No experience with your specific problem, although with two batteries I've not noticed inability to get the system to 100% - with the caveat that it hasn't reached this for some time as it's set to charge from solar only. One thing that has happened is the batteries don't charge evenly, the second tends to grab charge in preference to the first.
In terms of unusual behaviour: on one occasion with the second battery reaching 100% and the system at around 60% charging stopped and surplus went to grid export. Using the app for charge at full power for around a minute returned the system to normal status. No idea why this happens but will keep an eye out for a recurrence.

actually i looked at this today again and it might be ok - i have a gen 2 invertor. I've the batteries set to charge from 2am to 8am - they finish around 6am (reached 100% varies based on their soc when charging window starts).. on my gen 1 the battery would not begin to discharge until the specified charge window was finished.. so would only discharge from 8am.. when my cheaper night tarrif ends.. on the gen 2 it looks like the battery starts to discharge when they reach 100%..

I also have a newly installed HY5 Gen2, and have seen with solar excess the charging to 100% then refusing to accept charge until it has dropped below 95%. The discharge has only been to meet the load demand, not to cause an export to grid.

I will have to check my energy charts for specific days when I used the timed charge to 100%. It will be a few days ago now as I have lowered the overnight charge to 90% or less now with more daily solar gen.

If you read about LiFeP04 cells absorption (constant voltage) and float (constant current) charging regimes, I think the characteristics you describe are very welcome if you want a long lasting battery. Don't know about Giv batteries BMS, but most DIYers would only go into the absorption phase once a day max just to set the 100% marker and do a bit of cell balancing.
