Hi folks,

Do we need to do anything for summer time changing Saturday night/Sunday morning?

Thanks,
Mick

michaelmcgoldrick in theory... no. Clock change is administered by GE remotely.

However you may see some data anomalies (gap in data) in the graphs/data

You don't need to change any times at all, so please don't

Just got to hope the clock change actually works, as it didn't for a lot of people last year.

Plus don't forget, some Economy 7/10 tariffs are GMT all year around. Don't assume! Check. 😀😁

Agree it's best to check the following day or you would be 1 hour out

does anyone know if Octopus change times or not?

positor1 "Number one and most important: no matter what your In-Home Display (IHD) - the little portable screen you get with smart meters - says, your super cheap period stays between 02:00 - 05:00 UK local time while your peak period stays between 16:00 - 19:00 UK local time all year round." From : https://octopus.energy/smart/flux/
I would say that applies to all Octopus tariffs.

For anyone on Octopus Economy 7 ...

"What happens to my Economy Seven (E7) tariff when I have a smart meter installed?

Your smart meter will have a fixed off-peak 7 hour period from 00:30 to 07:30. This time period takes place according to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), so during British Summer Time (BST) the 7 hour period will take place between 01:30 and 08:30. This may differ from your existing off-peak period on your current non-smart meter."

Looks like the clock change worked here. 😀

Can see an entry in the inverter logs and the battery stopped charging at the right time.

Welcome to summer (time). 😁

TX200 , same here.

The power chart has readings for 00:55, then straight lines with no intermediary values until 02:00.

I see the mouse jumps from 1am to 2am and the data points get joined so i wondered what happens to an extra hour of data when the clocks went back last October.
looking at the 30th the cursor does jump but only between 01.00 and 01.10 , as the clocks jump back at 02.01 i would have expected it then.
Has the system just added together the existing hour to the new hour?

Whilst the GivEnergy switch-over went fine, at 07:50 (BST) my Octopus Eco7 meter was on 'day' rate. So Eco7 does shift to BST with the clock change.

Baychattan
they insist that it does not though.
The ihd (in home display) would of course.

Baychattan smart meter or old school one?

My inverter did update this time (first time it's worked since installation nearly 2 years ago!)
However, not everything was as smooth - I have a Shelly scheduled to turn the immersion off at 01:30 - and 01:30 never happened last night! (the Shelly is set to auto-update the time; looking at apache logs, it did turn the relay off at 03:32:49 - which seems a bit random, but at least it got there in the end)

My Shelly device is set to turn off a 4pm and that didn’t work either. I couldn’t find anywhere it mentions what it currently thinks the time is, just the time zone. hopefully it will all be back to normal tomorrow

The other weird thing I had was with octopus R&D, I have two schedules and one of them was set an hour ahead compared to its previous setting.
