Scenario:

  • Want to dump all generate PV to the EV (& household)
  • Hyb 5.0 Gen 2
  • ECO enabled
  • Battery "Charge Rate" set to 0 (from 3600)
  • PV power is high e.g. 4kw
    Outcome:
  • the charge to the batteries lowers but won't go any lower that just under 800w i.e. ignores/overrides the 0 Charge Rate value. Re-reading the register confirms the Charge Rate is actually at 0. Setting a Charge Rate above 800w works and limits the charge rate.

Any clues? I suspect "ECO enabled" is not allowing the charge rate to go to zero. I don't remember this being the case on my Gen 1.

I have seen the same issue, have had a bug report in for this since early Feb 2023, no reply so far.

Mine will go down to an actual 380 W but no lower, even when setting 0 W.

I'm seeing the same problem on a Gen3 5kW Hybrid - any sign of a fix?

Just from what I have seen on the forum(s), this is just how it is, no fix planned.

However the really good news is that the new firmware has a "Pause Battery" control. Off/Pause charge/Pause Discharge/Pause both.

On Gen2 (gen3) that comes with a time slot control. If you want to use it ad-hoc just set the time slot to 0:00:00 - 23:59:00 and toggle the control as you like. Its also exposed in new GivTCP (2.3.0).

justpassing Very helpful - thanks - I will use Pause Battery via HA after the next update to GivTCP.
