SOC bug causes reduced generation for the rest of the day

When the SOC bug occurs and the SOC jumps to 100%, it seems that it messes up the inverter and we no longer get decent generation for the rest of the day even with wall to wall blue skies. I aren't sure if this is just reporting of the values that are messed up or the actual figures. I will port here once I have an answer to that. Has anyone else experienced this? I am hoping it's a known issue and the fix is currently in testing I am currently on D0.906-A0.906 and 3009 for the 9.5KWh battery. Thanks.

Last few days this forum is littered with issues where battery hits 100% and solar drops. The theory was export limiting but doesn't seem to be the case for you either...

pacemaker Thanks for the reply. I guess all those affect, myself included will have to wait for a fix. Pretty annoying though as we end up using grid power if the load goes above the reduced solar input as the battery doesn't kick in either. You can't see that on the graph above as we have been out all day.

Yeah got the same issues! Should have been one of my best solar production days so far, turned out to be quite a stressful day trying to figure out what and why it was happening.
What do I say to friends and family when they ask me if I would recommend GivEnergy products? So far I’m struggling to justify what I have paid for!

I'm experiencing SoC drops almost every day anything from 10% -40% on 9.6 kWh battery. I have stopped recommending GE long time ago. In fact I've been telling people to stay away from their kit. All I hear from GE is that they are working on the problems but are unable to give any time lines and they keep feeding us with this same line month after month.

That isn't strictly true- we have been updated regularly by Paul, The Dragon, so we know exactly what is happening, and usually, why.
I do hope you get your system working as it should very quickly.

GivEnergy know about this issue. I have been experiencing the same problem for a while. There is a beta update which they tried to instal remotely for me today which didn’t work for some reason. They sent me the file and I manually updated the firmware via usb on my gen 2 hybrid 3.6 inverter and it’s fixed the issue. It sounds like the update is nearly ready to roll out.

The only thing I can recommend is using grid power to charge to 100 every night. That's the only way I can again the dreaded SOC drops or jumps.
