I'm completely new to solar energy. I wish that we had a giv energy for dummies handbook given to us on commissioning...it's a complete oversight in my opinion...it would be useful to cover topics like how to use the app...how to interpret the information on the app...tips and tricks on getting the most from solar... understanding the system...what to do when things go wrong etc etc

For some reason installers are either oblivious to the knowledge base provided to actually explain how the system works:

Or they are too busy counting their money running to the van…

My installers were very good, talked me through a few things. Sorted a handover pdf.

Although I think by the time the install happened I'd read most of the topics on this site, plus all the KB articles. Well prepared. 🤣

There is a Welcome pack (in the link from hoggy ) which covers most items you have mentioned above, the installers should give a copy to you at the end of the install/commission, but this rarely seems to happen.

It covers how the system works, overview of your system, the Portal/App, warranty etc

Oxton I started a similar thread. Although this is a bit more focussed on understanding what the various data values mean in terms of whether your system is performing normally or does it show there could be an issue with some of your equipment. I can see this is one of those marmite cases where you get the customers who get the kit installed and ignore the data apart from using the app dashboards to show their friends and the customers who get sucked into spending their life pouring over the data (i exaggerate a tad about their entire life - but you get the picture)..Welcome to the dark side, oh no that doesn't work here...

Thanks for all your replies....I'm not one of those technicians or mathematicians that want to pour over data day after day....however I'd like to be able to ascertain that all my system is working to its max.
I've got a three phase system with three inverters.....can you separate out the individual inverters data...so that you can compare them on the dashboard?
The solar company has been great....I had a comprehensive handover pack. I think the only thing I was missing was "a dummies handbook"

Maxwell thanks for the signpost to your post....a handbook explaining in step by step fashion how to set up your battery operation for different scenarios
