I have had my system up and running for 2 months. Almost exclusively charging battery from PV, and then Battery to Home. 9.5 kW Battery Hybrid 5.0 Gen2
Over that time the battery out to in ratio is 72%. Is this what others are seeing using the portal figures for Battery in Battery out ?
I was expecting this to be one DC to DC charge, and then DC to AC conversion. I have seen a few statements that AC -> Battery -> AC is 85% efficient. I assumed I would see better numbers with the more efficient route of only one AC DC conversion.

justpassing For April, with PV only charging on 9.5kWh Battery, Hybrid 3.6 Gen 2 I have 159 in and 128 out which is 80%. I have quite a low baseload though (100-150W) and as I understand it the inverter runs pretty inefficiently at that level so I think an overall of 80% is probably reasonable for me. If I ran more of the energy through at 2-3kW then efficiency would be higher.

same kit as me (9.5kwh Battery and Gen2 5kw Inv), mine was installed in March and just checked mine for April and I have 169.38kwh in and 145.55kwh out which is 85.9%. For March I had 86.7%. Yours seems a bit low in comparison.

for this morning midnight to 5am (no PV) I used 1kWh from the battery to provide around 0.66kWh to house consumption so I'm down at 65% for that power level, just to give you an idea of potential losses and that doesn't include what was lost on the way into the battery.

For April, 9.5kWh battery, 3.6kW Gen1 hybrid, I have 290 in and 269 out (92.7%). Battery cables run 6C above ambient at 50A.

I use a cooking thermometer to check cable temperatures. You could just use your fingers if you don't have a suitable thermometer.
You need the battery charging or discharging at full rate for 30 minutes to reach temperature.
For a 9.5 battery there are 2 orange cables from the inverter; check the temperature just below the black gland(s). Also check the orange connector to the battery is not hot.
For batteries with a separate breaker, there are 8 points to check. Red and black at inverter outlet, at breaker top, breaker bottom, battery entry.
Only touch the insulated outside of the cable, do not dismantle anything.
This is really beginning to bug me. Tracking for the last 3 months, the Total battery In to Battery out figures, both via the portal and via HA show a pretty steady 71-72% return on what I put in to the battery.
So over 3 months, 476 kW in and only 341kW out. Looking at various other posts, in addition to this thread, then 85% seems to be the expectation. Givenergy helpdesk chat seemed pretty relaxed about 30% losses. " within normal system parameters"as they used to say. I have looked, but there does not seem to be a large pool of electrons around the battery :-) Any suggestions, or once you have done all your other jobs could you have a look :-)
