Hi all,
I think I may need to manually update my firmware via the USB method, does anyone have a link to the new firmware to download?

Just for the support team, I have a 5Kw Hybrid Gen 2 inverter with 2 x 9.5 batteries.
My current inverter firmware is D0.906-A0.906
My current battery firmware is 3009

When I initiated it the first time yesterday, I went to the garage to look at the system and all 3 device were showing different coloured lights, so something was happening. Then the battery SOC went from around 50% to 100%.
The strings power is now showing 0w which is concerning.

The update had failed 4 times now, confirming that it has failed approx. 2 hours after first initiating it.

My inverter serial number is ED2232G060

Hope someone can help.

Thanks,
Ash

You may be best to email GivSuport

Although it you're lucky, @TheDragon (GivEnergy) might be around on here soon. 🤞

Mine has failed twice about two hours.
Current firmware version 3009, Inverter serial number: SD2104G006
5kW Gen1 Hybrid with 2x 8.5kWh batteries.

Mine had failed 3 times for CE2209G173. Inverter reboots have not fixed it.

mine fails after about 30 seconds, tried to update battery software, currently running 3007, SD1950G008.

I'm in the same boat. My install keeps failing, currently on 3008. CE2223G590.
Don't know if its related but around the same time as the failed updates, my Home Assistant instance also stopped receiving data from the inverter

Mine failed, so I went and turned the battery off with the black button on the RHS, waited 20s or so and turned it back on (rebooted the battery I guess).
Update and calibration then went smoothly

Battery reboot, not inverter!

Maybe best to pause home assistant whilst doing the update so it's read activities don't clash with the Comms from the portal (or at least reduce the frequency of runs). Mentioned elsewhere in the site.

Good point. I forgot to say that I stopped HA and cleared all Octo R&D schedules when I did mine

My firmware update has failed about 20 times. What improvements do you get if you update working on the principle if it ain't broke dent fix it.

My firmware for a Gen 1 Hybrid 5kW with 8.2 kWh battery is from Dec 2021 and system works well for me. Only thing I would like is faster reaction to higher loads.

Can anyone say if the current firmware is now stable or not as if it is I would probably upgrade, but if not would definitely leave well alone.

Thanks

Please can you take a look at mine? I started off the battery update for CE2225G214 last night, it got to 90% on verifying then reported failed a couple of hours later. Thank you in advance.

EmmetBrown it would be worth just emailing givenergy support. Paul isn’t the only one that can do this sort of thing and I’d guess pretty busy with plenty of other things.
