System is set to solar and Grid Charging (2am-5am) with Eco Enabled. Last night at around Midnight my battery suddenly decided it wanted to charge at full whack. I managed to catch it on my allways on display and re applied the 2-5am settings which seemed to stop it.
Have only noticed this last night but was just wondering if anyone else had seen such behavior ?

Had the battery SOC crashed to below 4%, just before this happened? If so, it could have been a recovery charge, to bring the battery voltage back up to a safe level. This is a safety feature, which will cause a short grid charge whenever the system thinks the battery may be at risk. Once the SOC gets to c.4% it will then stop.
Then first reading today it was at 36%. Think i must have killed the charge before the 5 min reading had a chance to kick in. But have checked Octopus portal thismorning and i was definatley pulling from the grid.

If it happened at exactly midnight, then it suggests that some kind of automation was kicking in (e.g. smart tariff, GivTCP, Home Automation). I'm no expert on any of these, but that would be my best guess.
Others on here can explain how to check for automations, and how to turn them off.

ToothyChris Good shout, Automation was set to none but have just reset it just incase. Fingers crossed that was it. Thanks

A reset to defaults (in the Portal) may also be an option - then set back to Eco mode and add in any timed charges you may have had.
Sometimes the values/settings which you see in the Portal do not accurately reflect what is stored on the GE server. A reset can sometimes resolve this - or in extreme cases GE staff have to reset values from the back end.

ToothyChris Paul did a manual reset the other day after i was updated to .994 Hoping its not a related thing.
I have had this happen on three occasions over the last few weeks.
Same as you: set to charge 2am to 5am, ECO on.
They have not been at midnight, twice in evening at different times and once at 6am.
Octopus shows power being pulled from grid during these episodes but portal does not show this (portal data fine at other times)
