Can anyone tell me if it is worth updating from firmware version 3009 to the latest 3012 version for a recently (1 month) installed 9.5 kWh battery and 3.0AC inverter?
To be honest everything seems to be working fine, I've noticed a few small jumps in percentage charge when the battery is nearly full (typically >80% jumping to 100%) which then discharges correctly. It always seems to happen on cloud days when charging starts and stops frequently, so I just assumed it was a minor software issue with the reporting...
I'm tempted to just leave everything as is for now, but to be honest I can't understand most of the release notes on the kb so wanted to confirm I wouldn't be missing out on any significant fixes etc if I stayed on 3009 for now.
Thanks in advance

If you aren't suffering from big SOC jumps you can stick with what you have.

ashenshugar37 from what I can decipher from the release notes, I think there is also some fix to available capacity in the 9.5 kWh. I have the same situation as you, new 9.5 kWh, no issues I think... I'm gonna stick with it for now and upgrade when we have some sunny days in a few weeks I think.

I too have an ac3 and a 9.5 on 3009. However after 2 months i started to get SOC issues and wasnt getting the 9.5Kwhr out of it. So, i took the plunge.

Roberto Thanks, would you mind letting me know how it goes?

So far, all good. Battery discharged and is now on the way up. Currently anout 35%
I thought 3009 was somehow a far better version than 3007, but after a couple of months it started to show issues.
I think the people who dont have issues, just dont know, because they don't look. Most people on here, are here because they use the app and portal to analyse their system. I suspect most other users do not.

Roberto Thanks for the update, great to hear it’s going well for you. I suspect you are right regarding only those who review the system performance knowing of the jumps in charging and discharging.
I think I’m going to continue to monitor my system’s performance and the firmware update roll out for a few more days before taking the plunge.

ashenshugar37 I have the same set up, you can read my experience on the update earlier today on another post. I'm going to keep an eye on my system over the next month as I tend to get the SOC issue once or twice a month.

3012 has many new features, for example it can disconnect one battery and leave the other working, if the SOC get too far out, the lower can charge with the higher temp offline.
Or if there's a fault detected, this BMS will pick them out, and take action. If the integrity of the pack is at stake it will take it offline and throw a red alarm on that pack only.
But as other say, if you dont want/need the new FW. No one is forcing you to have it.

My FW update went as per design. So far all looks good, so i cant see any reasons not to update.

This seems an appropriate thread to ask:
My AC3 and 2 x 5.2s are on D0.534-A0.534 and 3007, and have been working fine.
Were I do to the update (both inverter and BMS?) what difference in eprfoirmance should I see? Would my 80% DoD batteries suddenly discover new usable reserves? They do take 8kWh charge at the moment from "empty".
I tend to live firmly in the "if it ain't broke...." camp, but am not blind to improvements.

wilfleek If you hold off if no issues, new Inverter FW is coming soon.
With the faster response time

@TheDragon (GivEnergy) Thanks, roughly how long do you expect for that? And how will I know it is available?

Thanks to everyone for all your advice, and especially to TheDragon (GivEnergy) for all his help to everyone here.
So I took the plunge and pressed the update button this morning after reviewing the FB groups where the feedback is much more positive with more people reporting a flawless upgrade.
I can confirm that the firmware was updated very quickly and the calibration of my battery has just been completed with no issues.
I'll continue to monitor the system performance over the coming days to see if I notice any improvements in performance / capacity, although that might be hard to confirm definitively as my system was already behaving itself quite well.

ashenshugar37 Did mine this morning as well. Upgrade itself was very fast, seemed like only a couple of minutes. Battery nearly full again, been throttling charge as its a grey day here trying to avoid AC charging.
Thanks again to TheDragon (GivEnergy) for all your hard work and excellent communication.

One thing I have noticed after the update of my 9.5kwh battery is that it hangs on to the 4% minimum charge for a lot longer. Mine used to lose 1% about every 3.5 hours.
It now takes 8 hours to drop 1%.

Hook if its idle, this is when OCV will run. If no adjustment seen, the SOC was already tracking well.
