PV During Calibration

I've just kicked off the FW update on my battery and it seems to have started fine. The update happened and it now reports version 3012 on the portal, I have received the notification about a calibration starting and my battery is now dumping to the grid but I was under the impression that during this phase the PV should be disabled (presumably to ensure the battery can actually empty) however mine appears to still be going.

It's not causing a massive issue right now as it's slightly cloudy so PV is around 1kW but if the sun appears it may well limit my battery discharge to <1kW which would take longer to empty. I'm not sure there's anything I can do about it, just wondered if I'd misunderstood what the system would/should do? Gen 2 3.6 Hybrid inverter if that matters.

My PV kept generating during calibration. I charged the cars during the discharging phase to make best use of the stored energy (rather than getting just 4p via SEG). The combined PV generation and battery discharge powered the house, heated the water and topped the car battery off.

Don't over-think it...just let it do it's thang

Happy to let it just carry on but at the point where my solar gets to 3.6kW, my battery will stop discharging because it's maxed out the inverter so not sure what happens if it gets there as the calibration won't really be happening then! Fingers crossed it gets to empty soon I suppose.

Phil_H You could just open the PV isolators, or switch the isolator off at the bottom of the inverter during the discharge phase. That should disconnect the PV and enable discharge at whatever rate you want.

I have an AC-coupled system and am planning to do the same - wait for a sunny day before updating so the charge pase of calibration imports as litte from the grid as possible.

Zakalwe I'm confused by your chart I have to say - is this the calibration run?

At 8am the battery jumps to 100% (why?) and dumps the battery (that part makes sense) - big drop to 0% though, then charges battery from 0% (ok), but only to around 58%... I thought calibration goes to 100%?

Yes. On firmware update it jumped to 100%, then dumped all the power out. It didnt finish charging back up until after midnigh (I throttled the charging power so it didnt charge during peak rates)

PV only stops on the Hybrid inverters during calibration. As the AC coupled has no way to tell your other one to stop it will just carry on doing it's thing as normal.
