Inverter Power Reporting Issue over 440V

Running a Gen 2 Hybrid 5.0 inverter with 2 9.5kwh batteries and 15 425W panels over two strings, 10 front and 5 rear.

I have an issue with the inverter not accurately reporting power generated, on string 1, in the first couple of hours of the day. The system starts up and reports some power generated, as soon as the string voltage exceeds 440V the inverter
reports power of 4 to 6W until the voltage drops below 440V. This has happened since install and i'm unsure if this is an inverter hardware or a software issue.

Restarting the inverter immediately results in the voltage dropping and power being reported at "normal" levels. I'm confident that the system is generating in this time, and charging the batteries, and this is reporting issue. Until the recent battery firmware update I would see frequent jumps in battery charge %, when the system could not longer charge as they were suddenly full.

justpassing Thanks for highlighting the post, hopefully get the firmware pushed out soon and I can stop restarting the inverter every morning....

Not sure if you use HA with givtcp ? ( I am using givenrgy-local) but givtcp latest version includes restart, so you could automate the restart. Been trying to patch givenergy-local, but struggling ... Any sensible person would probably just wait for the firmware :-)

justpassing Interesting, I also use givenergy local, does givtcp also expose string voltage? Ideally I would restart once I see string 1 at 460V before 9am.

Arg0t yes, givtcp exposes string voltage, another user set up exactly that automation, if voltage above X then reset

Just wanted to close this out, Firmware version 909 appears to have fixed the issue with startup performance. So far the system appears to have much better control over string voltage during the early morning and for the first time since install reports a gradual increase in power as the sun rises, rather than dropping to 4 watts.
