Can anyone help, today my battery has stopped supplying power to the house. It has charged to 100% from PV, but when the house load exceeds the solar output all the extra load power is coming from the grid.
If I tell the battery to discharge it does supply energy but in dynamic mode it just does nothing.
Battery not supplying house load
heywoodstephen Do you have a time discharge period set? If so kill it and make sure your on ECO. If you have a discharge period set it won't discharge outside this period even if you have it set on ECO.
I don't, I have a timed charge set between midnight and 5am (night time rates) but no timed discharge. All was working normally yesterday but today its not.

The only discharges today are when I used a quick discharge from the app.
Try switching eco mode to off, save, then on & save
(Or dynamic mode - in the app - which is eco in the portal).
Failing that, try a restart from the web portal (on the my inverter page).
Hi TX200 Just tried this,
Unfortunately, non of these have helped.
I think this must just be a setting issue as if I use the quick settings to discharge it is able to provide power to the house, its just not automatically responding to demand from the house.
Is there anything else you can recommend?
I think the quick discharge may be the issue. I guess it works similar to timed discharge in that it doesn't go back to eco afterwards.
One thing to check in the web portal is the battery discharge rate - make sure it's not zero!
If all else fails, from the web portal, do a reset settings. Then ensure timed discharge and timed export are off. Ensure eco is on. And setup a timed charge if required.
I only tried the quick discharge to check that the inverter was able to get power from the battery. This was after I noticed it was not working normally.
I have all ready tried a reset, and checked the discharge rate, but it still not working. It seems strange that it was working normally up until midnight last night, when the timed charge would have kicked in, if the battery was not already above the charge too threshold. After that it stopped supplying the house.
So it seems to be something whent wrong with the timed charge that stopped it from discharging.
Hi, I seem to be having a similar problem, there seems to be a delay from the house calling for power and the battery is responding , resulting in the grid constantly giving power to the house.
I know there is always a slight delay but this has resulted in over 3.4kw of grid power being used today which is not normal for the system we have and the load we have used today
This has also only started today?
Is this a common problem?
MBL waters A power graph picture may give a clue of where to start.
MBL waters I think this must be different as my system is not responding to the house load at all.
I had hoped it would sort itself out over night but unfortunately it hasn't is there anyone from Givenergy that can help with this or do I need to call my installers?
todays power graph

My system has now been fixed.
Thanks to Adam Reynolds from the service desk. Apparently it was a settings issue something to do with the grid code.
He suggested it may have been due to a firmware update issue, but as I don't think there has been a firmware update recently I don't think that is right.
I would have been nice to know what the setting issue was, what caused it and if there was anyway I could have fixed it myself, but at least it's been resolved.

heywoodstephen Without knowing your inverter details, but assuming a Gen 2 HY5, if you were manually upgraded to 909, then this requires the grid code to be reset due to different registers in the firmware. Normally, the indicator is the battery only charging up to 20%, but regardless, you're all sorted now.
ProximusAl I have a Gen1 HY5 inverter, and the firmware is D0.450-A0.451 and battery firmware 3012 last updated on 2023-05-10 06:46:44 (over the air update from web portal).
But as you said all sorted now so it's not an issue.
