A cautionary tale for anyone having a smart meter installed.
I already had a GivEnergy solar system installed when a new smart meter was installed.
An engineer from Momentum Utilities installed a smart meter on behalf of Octopus Energy.
He asked if I wanted the “sensor” reattached (!) - I said of course, that is part of the solar installation.
He reattached the “sensor”.
I then saw weird readings in the GivEnergy App (they were significantly different to those that I was used to).
Doing a bit of research, I discover that the “sensor” is a CT clamp, and it had been connected the wrong way round! Having reattached it the correct way, the readings are now normal.

Don't start me on the word "engineer", being a Chartered Engineer and what I had to go through to be called that.

I had the same happen to me, the electricity company engineer fitted my CT clamps round the wrong way, my solar export was detected as house load and the inverters drained and never then charged the batteries trying to deal with it https://community.givenergy.cloud/d/2400-meter-change-ct-clamp-direction-excessive-house-load

Determining and fixing the issue took me a bit due to the GE installation manuals not being clear on how the CT clamp is to be fitted

Fixed it now though

Which is one of the many reasons to get a smart meter installed BEFORE installing solar / wind / storage / EV charger / etc.
