Hi,
I have a Gen2 5KW inverter and a 9.5Kwh battery.

Last week while on holiday, there were a couple of cells with high voltage, so percentages of battery were not correct. Next day the comms between battery and inverter went all over the place. (no cables moved as we weren't at home)/

Now it reports 100% during solar hours and 10% when there is no solar.

Support told me installer to do a hard reset as battery is frozen. Do you know if I can do this myself?

it is the second time that this is happening in the last month, how to prevent this happening again?

GeorgeA 1st try, using the black button on the right side

Press and hold for 5seconds. Release, press again and hold till it beeps, around 5 seconds.

If no beep, needs the battery opening, but can be done by competent engineer user

I had a similar problem and a GE person talked me through the process of opening the battery and doing the reset. He was very helpful, it was very easy and worked straight away.

Thank you
No Beep so it needs opening. I’ll wait installer - it is a pain as he is very busy and not always in area - and ask to see how is being done (can’t always wait up to a week for a hard reset).

Alternatively, is there a way to prevent these incidents that require installer to attend?
