Tried to update twice yesterday. Both failed. Now I get "Local Search Failed". Will this affect the working of the system?

I can now select home ! Don't think I'll try the update for a while!

TheDragon (GivEnergy) Hi Paul, earlier you mentioned that our failed update to 3013 needed manual intervention - I have the file and procedure but do I still need to do it manually please or will the new version work?

Our updated failed three times without even starting and we continue to run OK on 3012. No worries to wait until early next week. Thank you.

sponev I thought your problem was that you had a partial download file on the USB stick? I think the firmware upgrade probably deletes the install file from the USB stick once done so your problem is that there's a file which needs deleting before an upgrade can happen.

Vestas Indeed that's what I'm told. I was just checking to see if the update procedure deletes the old files first before the fresh bin file is downloaded. I'll maybe try an auto update again before dipping into the manual update. I'm also wondering if I need the new 3013 version or the one support sent me a few days ago. Ho hum. There are also reports of folk with multiple failed attempts but then GE support managing to complete it remotely. So not quite sure to be fair.

It wouldn't make any sense to delete "old files" then download - easier to sanity check it before an update by checking no files exist, do the upgrade then delete the files once the upgrade is done. That way if files still exist then something went wrong on the last upgrade & you don't run the next upgrade just in case it makes matter worse.
