Edward That is high, but I expect it's within the spec that Givenergy expects. I'm not sure of the gen3 but the gen1 is said to be OK with ambient up to 55°C. However, high reported temperatures is the reason why many of us have added forced cooling to the passive heatsink fins. My dual HY5s are in the old airing cupboard and I have a pair of 12V PC fans on each inverter forcing air over the fins when inverter temperatures reach 40°C and an extract fan to remove warm air above the inverters when they reach 45°C. As a result, the ambient never exceeds 35°C. I also dial down the charge rate as the solar harvesting days are long enough to guarantee the battery will charge no matter how quickly it gets charged.
If the temperature wasn't available on the portal, I'd probably never think about it. Battery temperature is also an issue as it is measured at the BMS and adjacent to the cells. Under heavy load, the BMS temperature can reach quite high values, but there's nothing that can be done really about that; there's no practical means of cooling the BMS.
