I've a GE hybrid inverter and batteries with solar and I'm considering having the EPS circuit connected. I've looked through the forums but haven't been able to identify if the battery will be recharged by excess solar during a power cut when the EPS is in use. I can see arguments either way so would appreciate it if anyone has personal experience of how that works.
If hybrid, the solar connected to the inverter should be ok to charge batteries DC connected to the inverter.
bunny I suspect only the AIO can do that.
Hybrids (if eps installed) allow panels to keep working as there is a direct dc connection to the batteries. AC coupled, the panels go down.
I believe the AIO can recharge them as well as whilst it’s AC, it’s islanded behind a gateway like a Tesla PW(although I don’t have one myself to confirm)
Most hybrids from other manufacturers can, so whilst the AIO can do it, I am pretty certain that the GE hybrids do too. The AC3 can’t.
Best bet would be to send an email to GE so you have it in writing or even better get that from GE and the installer.

bunny I have seen this happen. We have Gen 1 hybrid inverters and had a long power cut in the strong winds a few weeks ago, no EPS connected and the batteries charged up during the power cut

Now my installer has fixed the EPS (would have liked whole house but the AIO was released a month after my install, doh!) I'm all prepared for the next power cut. :-)
