My battery does not seem to be charging and discharging properly as per the settings in the app/portal. I first noticed this on Monday evening when my smart meter was showing 2kW import - loaded the Givenergy app and it was importing power into the battery despite the battery charge setting being solar only.
I have tried resetting back to default settings and restarting the inverter but that doesn't seem to have helped. Since restarting, I have enabled DC discharge through the inverter remote control settings which now has the battery discharging to meet home demand but the battery will only discharge at max power (2600W) so if the house requires 1kW, the remaining 1.6kW is being exported to the grid.
Everything has been working fine up until now so not sure what has changed.
Gen 1 HY3.6 inverter D0.450-A0.451 firmware, with 9.5KwH battery, 3013 firmware.

Make sure the cloud portal inverter setting is in eco, and the app is in dynamic.

I've just checked and the portal is set to Eco mode and app is in dynamic mode. The system is still importing from the grid instead of using battery power.

I gave up trying to use the app and portal and get things to work as I thought they should.
Gen1 Hy5.0 and 9.5 battery and Octo Flux.
I disabled the control functions on phone app and just use it for monitoring.
I tried using the settings in the portal but it has only a single charge slot and does not reset to Eco after timed export.
I then tried Octo R&D as it has scheduler and can handle multiple slots but it cannot reset to Eco after a timed export.
Ended up going to Home Assistant as it pretty much does whatever I want and as it is a server on home network it is not subject to vagaries of Octo servers, GE servers and the internet when quite often signals never got passed to my inverter.

I have a similar situation..

I've been using Octopus R&D successfully for a few months to perform a timed discharge from 4pm to 5pm each evening (for Octopus Flux). At 5pm the inverter is switched back to Eco/Dynamic mode.
However, about 10 days ago without me changing anything, at 5pm the battery goes idle and does not discharge to meet house demand. The app shows battery discharge correctly set to Dynamic and the remote control history looks normal.
Using the app to change from Dynamic Discharge to Timed..and then straight back to Dynamic and the battery starts to discharge properly to power tho house. I've reset all settings and rebooted the inverter but it still continues to go wrong each evening. It's a pain having to manually intervene every day to stop drawing power at peak time.
Any thoughts?
I had suspected the R&D Labs has set a hidden setting but resetting settings did not help. Looks like the issue is not with the Octopus R&D as the Eco command (Set DC Discharge to false) is being correctly sent and received:

Ahhh...it looks like there is a missing command from the R&D Labs. They used to send an additional 'Enable Eco Mode'
command:

A few days later and I'm still having issues with the battery not discharging properly. After resetting all the settings and restarting the inverter it still doesn't discharge the battery to meet home demand. If it's set to dynamic the battery doesn't discharge at all. Changing it to timed discharge to meet home demand (via the app), the battery will discharge but only at full power (2.6kW) so if the house needs 1kW the battery will also discharge 1.6kW to grid. If the house doesn't need any power, the battery discharges all power to the grid and I have to go back into the settings and change to dynamic to stop battery discharge. It seems the 'meet home demand' part isn't being recognised.
The firmware was updated to 3013 by Givenergy support just over a week ago and the battery didn't do a calibration - I wonder if the lack of calibration with the update has anything to do with it?

MartinB If you were updated to 3013 from 3012, I understand that another calibration isn't needed. Lack of one shouldn't cause your problem. Seems like you have a fault, either hardware or, more likely, a corrupted register in the inverter. Get on to support and be demanding!

Hello - I have a Hy5 Gen2 and 2x9.5kWh batteries installed last month and am seeing similar behaviour. As soon as the batteries reach 100%, they don't discharge and all house load comes from the grid. This happened on 3 Aug for about 2 hours and then again today for 4 hours - see below.
Looking at the inverter data on the portal I noticed that one of my arrays had a voltage over 500V that seemed to trigger this - is this likely?

Do you have a charge period set?
Seen similar and suspect battery will not supply house during a timed charge period even if battery is at 100%
