How do I reset the WiFi on a gen 3 inverter? I can't connect to the WiFi network it broadcasts as I don't know the password. I believe it is supposed to be set to the serial number of the WiFi or the inverter but I have tried both and neither seem to work.

Any ideas?

Pscarborough Mine was set to 12345678. Obviously I changed that straight away

Thanks. Tried that, as well as 00000000. No luck.
There must be a way to reset it (like there is for the dongle that the gen 1 inverters use) but having spent a while searching I cannot seem to find out how.

The serial number on ours was different in the givenergy dashboard compared to the label on the side.. it was the first two characters that differed.. the serial number on the label didn't work, the serial number on the online dashboard did work. It was the inverter serial number.

Thanks. I tried both serial numbers. They differed only by the first 2 letters (one was WH and the other FA) but no joy.
Guess I'll have to give GivEnergy a call tomorrow and ask how to reset it. Disappointed that they don't make this information easily available.

Did you get a reply how to reset the wifi on a Gen 3 inverter? I have the same issue.

Digger there's another post on here somewhere, fairly recent

From memory I believe the answer is look for the little button near the dip switches. Hold it down for at least 15 seconds.

Then connect in using the defaults (i think the usual guide can be used at that point - the one on the GivEnergy KB website).

Thank you, I will have a look in the morning.

This is correct. There is a small button just near the dip switches. It's quite difficult to see but it is there and it works.

You are right. Tiny black button. All sorted. Thanks. I am going to hard wire it in to my router. I shouldn't have any more issues then.
