My system went live at the start of this month. For some reason when the battery is being charged from the grid whatever percentage I put in as a cap is just ignored and the battery is charged to 100%.
Am I alone with this problem. Apologies if there is a live thread on this already.

Squid I have a Gen 3 and I've only once had to charge the battery from the grid after one very cloudy day I think a week ago when solar failed to recharge it to 100% and I set it to charge to 50% from 2:00am to 5:00am using the app and it worked exactly as instructed. This sample size one doesn't provide more than evidence that the setting does at least sometimes work.

I experience exactly this problem. It does not respect the charge limit set. It always charges to 100% or until the end time.

Squid I had this when I first installed our Gen 2 and it was linked to having a Smart Tariff applied. Once I deleted this it worked fine.

Thanks for this.
Was that any Smart Tariff or the preset Octopus etc or where you input your own in the GE option?
Did you re-apply a smart tariff once it started working or do you just leave it blank now?

Squid you can have a tariff card showing, just press the stop automations button on it.

Squid I put in our Octopus Go tariff but just deleted and left blank - I didn’t really care that much about it

Thanks - can you tell me please where the automations toggle is? I cannot see it on the tariff card.

I did the same but it still doesn't respect the charge limit

Squid it's on one of the tabs. You might have to expand the tariff card first pressing the four arrows that point away from each other button.
Had the same problem- 5 kW Hybrid inverter Gen 3 - ignoring the charge limit.
What's your Inverter software version?
email'd Givenergy support. Needed a firmware update to D0.305-A0.305.

I have the 3.6Kw Gen 3 Hybrid inverter with software version D0.393-A0.393.
I can't see a way to update it from the web interface so guess I will need to call them.

I had the same problem and Givenergy support suggested an updated firmware was required. I did have 393 and now I have 305. I can only think that 393 is a beta test of some sort. Will try again tonight and see if it has sorted the charge limit issue

Edwards40 Interesting. Not sure why I would have a beta firmware. It is the one that was installed by the installers when it was commissioned. Please let me know if the new firmware works for you as I still haven't got round to calling them. Don't want to waste my time if it doesn't fix anything!
