Anyone added a Gen 1 5.2kwh battery to a 9.5kwh Gen 2 On a 3.68 hybrid inverter also Gen 2. Is this straight forward for a qualified installer to fit and commission for a user to operate via the App.? Are GE ok with this?

billG i added a 5.2 to a gen 2 5kw inverter which had an existing 9.5.. I sourced the battery and my installer fitted it

billG vague recollections of there being some stolen stock that crops up on eBay every now and again. Not sure if that particular one is legit, but be careful! You might find it's serial number is banned at the GE end!

TX200 it’s an interesting question buying GivEnergy kit off eBay.
I normally have no issues with buying second hand household or IT equipment, the last laptop and the pc running home assistant are off eBay.
But knowing how picky GivEnergy are about warranties, that you have to have the equipment installed by a qualified electrician who GivEnergy see as first point of resolution for most issues, I fear this kills the second hand market. Would GivEnergy support and warrant such kit, what would it mean for the installer as well?
