REQUEST FOR NEW FEATURE

At present you can set the battery to force charge or force discharge in a user settable time window. At present it is not possible to PAUSE discharge.

I have an EV with Indra Smart Pro on OVO Charge Anytime. I do not want to charge the car with solar or battery due to attractive EV charging tariff.

My CT clamps are set so that the solar system will see the car as a home demand. I have been advised not to move the GivEnergy CT clamp closer to the house load as it would be after a Henley Block which messes up readings.

I can manage the solar by waiting to after dark to plug the car in. At this point the battery is partially charged and I want to exclusively use that for home demand not EV demand. There appears no way to stop the battery discharging to the EV without being able to put in a timed Pause function. After that one off pause I would want the system to revert to dynamic/eco.

Would have thought moving the chargers ct clamp was the easiest thing? I only use the grid on Intelligent to charge the car and it has no effect on the house/battery

you can do a timed overnight charge, with a set time window and also set the "charge overnight to %" to set a ceiling above which the house battery will not keep charging. This stops the battery from emptying into the car but it will stop it from meeting house load in that window too. Alternative is to manually reduce the Battery Discharge Rate down to approx. what the base load of house is, but you'll have to manually increase the next day before you start boiling the kettle. I'm hoping to do this myself but trying to automate using home assistant.

I have a Gen 2 hybrid inverter and in the cloud portal my inverter settings (cog wheel) you can scroll down you and pause the battery discharge for a set period. I use this to stop the battery discharging to my EV.

Who gave this advice ? If "mess up the readings" means that the CT clamp cannot see all the home energy use, then that's exactly what you wish to achieve here.

In both positions the CT clamp would read the perceive home readings..

In one position it would not see the EV as a home load

Being the other side of a Henley block means the reading for home load would not be accurate (apparently)

Brilliant. At last someone has provided an accurate answer to my question. I am most grateful.

All i need to do is set pause battery for the length of time I think it will take to charge the car to the desired percentage and then unpause it.

I only charge the car once a week so not an onerous thing to do! ❤️
