Not sure about this, but something doesn't look right...

Gen 3 Hybrid with 2x 9.5 kWh batteries.

Saver Session on the 29/11 - GivEnergy shows I exported 4.54 kWh in the 90 mins session; but my Smart Meter data from my supplier and looking at the DCC data shows I exported 8.96 kWh

Saver Session on the 01/12 - GivEnergy shows 4.49 kWh, Smart Meter shows 9.22 kWh

Any ideas what is going on ?

Do you normally export?

They pay the saving session money based on the difference from usual activity.

They use 10 days of history for week days (last ten week days that have data that aren't saving session days, going back as far as 60 days if they need to).

So average use of average export over those ten comparison days is removed from what you did that session.

It's also calculated in 30 min chunks, comparing with the average for that 30 mins over the ten reference days.

TX200 I don't normally export at that time. The strange thing is, why my supplier thinks I have exported twice the amount that GivEnergy report ?

Phil89a oh, it's the other way around? Maybe the data in GivEnergy isn't accurate.

Looking at the data in the MyInverter page? The meter tab may be the best place to check - seems to be the most accurate but as I believe it comes from the em115 meter.

TX200 Meter data on the GivEnergy Portal is showing total export for that day at 4.8 kWh; half of what is being reported via the Smart Meter.

I feel that GivEnergy's figures are more correct as I understand the batteries can only discharge at a maximum of 3.6 so in 90 minutes that would be 5.4. Minus house load, that would seem to be right at 4.8.

But where is the 9+ coming from ?

Phil89a Have the same situation since I got connected with Octopus. Portal and Smart meter readings are aligned, however if I go on my Octopus account export readings are roughly double of the reality...when contacted Octopus about that they didn't care much to be honest, so i am curious how this will play out on these saving sessions...for the export payment though I know that they were using the manual meter readings that I was giving them instead of taking it from the smart meter.

dorosde In my case Portal and Smart Meter are not aligned as the Smart Meter is producing double export. I am having my Smart Meters replaced tomorrow, so I will see what happens with the next saver session.

Or the GivExergy Portal is not showing Export correctly

I'd be happy if Octopus were giving me double the export, as long as there wasn't double the import too 🙂

pacemaker Import seems fine - just the export is strange.

pacemaker My meter's clock is 12 hours out, so off-peak is recorded as peak, etc. I was told that a lot of the earlier meters fail to hold the correct time and drift out over time (hence mine being replaced). I only noticed when I checked my usage when moving onto a peak/off-peak tariff. Most normal people would never check and therefore their bills will be wrong. There seems to be no central checking performed of a meter's clock status.

Phil89a same here!

Smart meters should receive their time via the radio comms link. If it's exactly 12 hours out that seems like a configuration cockup, not drift. Drift was certainly a problem with the old-fashioned meters.

You're sure it's the meter time that's wrong, and not something on the IHD?

rjp Meter time is about 11hr 40mins out so I think it is drift. Definitely the meter as I checked the time on the meter. Strange, but the time on the IHD display is correct

Hopefully fixed tomorrow 🤞
