Inverter doing… odd things

Morning all.

I’ve noticed my inverter playing silly buggers over the last few days. I set a timed charge overnight, with a limit of 50% (I have an Octopus PowerUp to fill the rest later today), but woke up to see it had charged to 100%.

Figured I’d use the quick play buttons in the app to export to grid, but when I hit the minus button, it switches to running the house from the grid.. Pressing play works, pressing the plus button switches to running from the grid and topping up the battery, so it seems like only the export button is playing up.

Separately, I have some weird phantom load issue that only appears when I’m exporting - when I run a timed export, as soon as that starts the load on my house increases by about 4-500W, limiting my export capacity. Not by a lot, I know, but still. As soon as the export ends the house load drops back to normal..

I’ve restarted the inverter through the portal, but same issue persists.

Any insight on how I can bludgeon it into submission?

Atkinstagram the inverter itself consumes quite a lot of power in order to export at a high rate. In the app, one of the settings is is "show calculated load'" which seems to fudge the house load as difference between all the other bits, effectively lumping losses into house load. I've turned that off now.

DD Interesting - is that a recent addition? Wonder why I'm only seeing it recently..

Any idea on the rest of the issues? O_o

Atkinstagram I've not seen the thing about charging to 100%, though others have reported it on threads here. (I have an automation which sets charging power to about 1/4 of power required, so that it takes the full 4 hours to get to the target % anyway, so it shouldn't have time to go much beyond that.)

For pause: I did have an issue with pause not appearing to work, but found a fix for that by, on the portal, setting the pause end time to be 23:59 rather than the default 00:00 (which appears to disable pause functionality). [I did put in a bug report, but haven't had any acknowlegement of any of my feedback reports yet.]

I'd try to diagnose issues by pressing the buttons on the app, then going to the web portal and forcing it to read registers to see what the app has actually done. (Actually, first check is @Rubikcube's monitor android app, which also gives access to the raw settings, and is very useful.)

DD Thanks DD, appreciate that. I'll give that a whirl before forcing myself to endure the support line..

Oh - also, changes made via the app should be logged in the 'remote control' (gears icon) section in the inverter page on the portal - another useful way to track the changes.
