When i have my battery running in eco mode and not much switched on my house is saying its taking 200w. When i then turn on timed export to take advantage of export pricing it shows the export of approx 3.4kw going to the house instead of the grid... like below:

What am i doing or understanding wrong? I thought the excess export would go to the grid and not my house, i dont even understand how it can be going to the house as theres nothing using that amount.

I have a giv energy hybrid inveter gen3 i think with the latest givwat 9.5

although having said that it when i switched it back to eco mode it was displaying 3.5kw to the grid, is there maybe a several minute lag?

That screen updates every five minutes.

Try the app in home mode for quicker updates.

tried again and it showed as exporting to grid 3.4kwh for a few mins then refreshed and its now going to the house again. Fraustrating.

check the meter section on the portal, under Inverter. That will show you export in more real time (depending on how often your system is logging), could still be every 5 mins. House isn't going to consume that amount of energy into nowhere, unless you have some kind of EV charger or solar iBoost type thing that sniffs "excess" energy. This will be seen as excess and used by those.

Thanks for this, it seems ive been an idiot, ive got a myenergi eddi which boosts my hot water when there is excess, it was going there, then reaching temp, switching off and sending to the grid, and repeat if the water cools. Thanks for poking my brain in the right direction.

gla1 I was just going to say have you got a diverter - I do too, though not myenergi - and I keep meaning to set it up so that I can hold it off - but I need to make some wiring changes first. Another job for the weekend!
