Firmware D0.913-A0.913

Has anyone upgraded to D0.913-A0.913 firmware on a Gen 2 5KwH Hybrid inverter? If so are you having battery discharge issues or is your system still running as designed?

Stephen I upgraded to 913 a few days ago, without any apparent issues. The only odd thing I found was that after the firmware upgrade completed, a command was sent to the inverter to set Enable EPS to True. As I don’t have an EPS setup, I set this back to False using the Remote Control section of the GivEnergy Cloud Portal.

What battery discharge issues are you seeing ?

Since I upgraded the inverter firmware yesterday evening my battery has been stuck charging at around 290W. Tried hard and soft resets of the inverter. Quick settings for pause and discharge do not work, but charge does. Reset everything to defaults and checked each setting in the portal. Nothing has rectified the issue yet, anyone any other ideas?

I have a 5kw Gen 2 inverter on firmware D0.913-A0913 and a 9.5 KWh battery.

So after the resets, have you been able to check the settings in the Remote Control section of the GivEnergy Cloud portal ?

I would be looking particularly at the settings:

AC Charge Upper % Limit - should be 100
Battery Reserve % Limit - should be 4
Battery Charge Power - should be 3600
Battery Cutoff % Limit - should be 4
Inverter Max Output Active Power % - should be 100
Enable EPS - should be Off (unless you have EPS wiring)
Battery Charge Power Percentage - should be 100
Pause Battery - should be Not Paused
AC Charge 1 Start Time - recommend 00:00 for now
AC Charge 1 End Time - recommend 23:59 for now

For each setting, press the swirly arrow to re-read the setting from the inverter - do not trust what is initially displayed on the screen …

If you get the odd Inverter Timeout message when re-reading a value, don’t worry, I get that too …

I have the same HY5 Gen2 inverter. Today, I got the message for a new firmware, I'm assuming it is 913, as I'm on 912 atm.

What is the general consensus? Upgrade or wait? I don't have any major issues with the current firmware. The only thing is that timed discharge/export will do 4kW from the battery?!?!?!

For me, in these days of Savings Sessions, the additional discharge was very handy, so I pressed the button and it all worked as expected, but I did that before the festive season kicked in.

For @Stephen, he is now stuck with a misbehaving battery on Christmas Eve.

So applying due weighting to each outcome on our sample size of two (!), I would definitely advise you to wait until the GivEnergy Support desk is open again …

Stephen Wow, that is above and beyond!

Stephen My inverter has worked fine all night, discharging to supply the house and a timed charge at low rate and then resumed discharge post that. The issue was not to do with any settings we have access to. It took a couple of remote reboots by GivEnergy of the software to kick the discharge back in to life. Thanks to those who posted helpful comments yesterday.

Lofthouse with 913 do you get more charging slots like the gen 3 now ? I have the Gen 2 on 912 with only 1 slot
