I see from my Dashboard I am being asked to update the inverter firmware.

Currently my 5.0 Gen2 inverter is on A912-D912 (battery 3015) and the new A914-D14

I see from the knowledge base that the update includes the enticing attribute of
"Optimise PV MPPT Logic"

If it helps get the most solar generation that would be good but my last few update attempts have been a bit of a nightmare with many phone calls to Givenergy to get the system unstuck and going again. So I have been reluctant to update again while the system is working OK.

I have seen no posts regarding this update so either people are not having issues with it or people are ignoring the update I guess.

Does anyone have any experiences with the update good or bad?

HY5 Gen2 on D0.913-A0.913. No notification for a new firmware though.

This has been stable for me. And the battery is 8.2kWh on 3015.

HY5 Gen 2 on D0.913-A0.913 with a 9.5kWh on 3015.
I had issues with the system crashing every couple of weeks (relays clicking, not drawing from charged battery etc) until I contacted support and they seem to have sorted it. Time will tell.
"just had some settings that weren't changed at an earlier date. Should be all good now." was their reply.
No notification yet to update to 914.

So is there any new firmware for HY5 Gen2? Givenergy KB mentions A914-D914 as being the latest. I am currently on D0.913-A0.913 and 3015 on the battery but I didn't have any notification for an update. All works fine to be honest with 913, except the bit that when the battery reaches empty, it then re-calculates the SOC, providing power to the house for an hour or so and the cycle repeats until it finds it's 4-5% where it stops discharging to the house (as it's really empty).

ThePalfs I'm having this inverter issue with the clicking and not drawing from battery. Any idea what they did to fix it? No option to update to 914 either...

Hi, Other than the response I included in my earlier post I do not know what they did.
So far it seems to have worked as the issue hasn't happened since.
I emailed support and they responded the next working day.
There is still no option to update firmware for me, but if my system remains stable, I'm not sure I'll update anyway.
Good luck.

i had an ongoing saga with this. first time it happened, they came out and replaced the inverter, 2nd time it happened they said they replaced a board. no remote fix seemed possible.

the first round they wanted to get the installer out to "check the wiring" i questioned this as nothing had changed and it had been working for a year. GE came out and fixed it. Second time around they tried the same "check the wiring", I pointed out that they touched it last so if there were any wiring issues, it was on them.

Sorted in the end and has been stable for a month or so

When I upgraded to 913 I experienced the clicking and not drawing power multiple times over a month. I then requested a downgrade and I’ve had no issues on 912 so I’m very reluctant to upgrade again unless there is a definitive fix for this issue.
