Im exporting to the grid and the smart meter is showing 2.56kwh. This is 500w higher than I've ever seen before. I have a gen1 3.6.
According to the app its exporting 2.88kw but on the side of the inverter it states a maximum of 2.6kw.
Is this a concern?

The discharge from battery will always appear higher than what the inverter reports - due to losses e.g. heat.
Ive had the inverter for a year, its always discharged 2.0kw at the smart meter, not 2.56kw. The only thing different is the firmware whixh got updated a week prior.
So ive just done another export. Clicked on the play button in Quick Settings and the battery has paused. Is it because the BMS is 39c and it wants to cool down?
Marren2016 I don't use the quick settings, but I thought that when you pressed it, it popped up 3 options: discharge, pause, charge; and you then choose one of those.
Or when you say you did another export, if that was a timed export, then you probably want to confirm that eco flag is still on.
I didnt do a timed export. Setting that pauses the battery until the export starts, negating the whole idea of earning money.
Ive power cycled the system and the house is still running off the grid electricity. I cant workout why its doing it, its been in a year and its been reliable.
Went to my desktop to check the settings tab and eco was disabled. Its a bug in software.
Marren2016 Can you check the activity log in the portal (remote control section) and see what caused it to get turned off. If it was concurrent with other changes, they probably happened due the same higher-level change. (Such as turning on timed-export, or turning off timed-discharge.)
I went downstairs 20 mins ago to see my mrs and noticed the smart meter was amber. I looked at the app and the battery was pinned at 296w and the rest ofthee power was supplied by the grid. This is grinding my gears now.
I eventually wondered if it was a bug and adjusted the discharge from 2600w to 2500w and the battery took over power the house. Givenergy software is buggy to say the least.
All i know is NEVER discharge to the grid unless you dont mind spending therest of the evening fixing bugs.
I didnt do a timed discharge, i used the quick settings buttons.
I would like to add, when the battery initially paused after exporting; the 3rd party app (that reports cell temps etc) couldnt communicate with the battery. It said it was offline or something.
Looking at the notifications today, at 18:35~ i got an bms over voltage, a bms low voltage, then 6 minutes later another low voltage.
On the day in question I did set it to timed export but as it paused the battery I removed the timed export, checked the eco flag (which was off) turned it on and then waited for the time to press the quick start button. The battery was operating normally, until i stopped the quick export with 'play'. Stopping the quick export seemed to send it off kilter.
Tonight i was exporting at 3kw and the mcb tripped. The inverter & battery seemed ok, all lights were green. Flipping the mcb back on got the system exporting straight away.
What might cause this to happen?
I have a voltage optimiser set to 226v, could the VO be an issue?
Sometimes I believe some of the registers get corrupted, so that may be a cause of your problem.
My suggestion would be to go to the Portal, then inverter, then the settings tab, then reset to defaults. This resets the inverter back its original settings with eco on. Then you'll need to reset any adjustments you want. If not, you'll need to get back to GE or your installer.
GE got back to me today saying the mcb thats been fitted is a 16a type B when it should be a 20A type C. Hopefully this will solve the issues.
