Hi all, is anyone having issues with their Hybrid going offline and making a 'clicking' sound? It's solved easily by resetting it in the web portal but if I don't notice it's no longer working it can stay that way for hours, leaving the solar/batteries cut off and drawing from the grid for our power. Which is infuriating.

This is a very recent problem, never used to happen, wondering if it's a software bug, we're on D0.913-A0.913
for the inverter and 3015 for the batteries.

just replied to you on another post, i had the fault on earlier firmware versions than you have. I'm now on the same versions as you.

I think it's a hardware problem rather than software.

HY5 Gen 2 on D0.913-A0.913 with a 9.5kWh on 3015.
I think you need to contact GivEnergy Support and give them the opportunity to help out.

Just to clarify, my system was behaving the same way you are describing yours and this was fixed (no failure after 3 weeks so far) remotely.

Thanks both, just catching up, appreciate the response. If it happens again, I shall document it this time and get them involved.

Happened again last night as I was going to bed, emailed support this morning, so we'll see what comes of it. Getting quite annoying now, no pattern in regards to time of day/conditions etc.

I had this issue which seemed to happen every 2 to 3 weeks after I performed a firmware upgrade. I asked GivEnergy support to roll back my firmware and its now been fine for 2 months.

We had the regular but persistent click issue not long after first install (but with an AC3). In our case it was a wonky earth connection by our installer.
Check your fault codes (in notifications of inverter ‘page’ on portal interface) it might give you a clue, ours did say earth voltage too high.

It is just over a month now since GivEnergy "tweaked" my system and so far it has been ok.
Fingers crossed they can sort your system too.

So, quick update, GE did some over the air tweaking, which seemed to have fixed it, but sadly it's come back again. GE are going to send an engineer...

Update for anyone who has a similar issue, GE engineer came yesterday, they replaced the inverter.

It's now stuck in calibration mode, but that's another problem! Hopefully this issue is now solved.

I have the same issue, clicking inverter switching off the battery. GEN2 3.6 Inv. Battery stays on when the MCB is switched off. The system is approx 20months old.
I have contacted GE and sent them a video of the fault. They have raised it to 2nd line and approved a site visit but waiting on installers sending remidial work agreement. (unsure what this is)
Fingers crossed I get it sorted sooner rather then later.

Rodmac76 I have to say I didn't involve my installer, went straight to GE. Fingers crossed it gets sorted for you quickly. Our system appears to be working properly again now, but only time will tell. Customer service from GE so far has been great.

Arron Thanks, I did not involve my installer either GE have, and now fighting who is responsible if there is any remedial work, while I am stuck waiting.

Rodmac76 I’ve just had a GE engineer here today to replace a failed gen 1 inverter. After the site visit was approved it was handled by Carla-Jo the Field Services Administrator. 2 and a half weeks from agreeing the engineer visit to them turning up onsite.

Talking to the engineer he said that GE now have 8 field engineers in total. He joined the company in October last year and since then there’s been a further 3 engineers join. Wait times for visits have dropped as a result

geoffreycoan Remember to make sure it gets the same f/w as the other one 😉

Vestas I did ! The inverter is currently recalibrating the battery so once that finishes and everything is working fine I will post on the ‘battery failure’ entry what happened.

geoffreycoan I had this vision of you with one on old, one on new cross charging 😃
