I don't know but no one seems to be viewing it at all as the video according to YouTube has only 2 views.

Is this some joke/spoof? I looked for a website for the company and there is one but no address or phone number just email contact. Also, when you click on them, a couple of areas go to the Givenergy pages.

Very odd. Polar ESS seems to be a Chinese manufacturer, but - as you spotted - the UK website has some links that take you straight to the Givenergy site...

Also, there is a Polar-ESS app which looks 99% like the Givenergy one, and the publisher shown on google is "GivEnergy Software Ltd."

No comment on the installation as such, I've ruffled enough feathers this week.
I believe that they may find hooking up the battery outputs solely to the top of the stack does pull that top pack down quicker than the rest. Pylontech community gradually found out you get better balance hooking up pos/neg at top of stack and the other at the bottom which shares load across them all more. Less unbalanced SOC normally that way.

Polar is just Giv. My ill fated post on that other thread did actually reference that YouTube account as its other videos shows internal Giv inverter & Battery software that I'd love you get my hands on!
Also, a sneak peak at Gen2 batteries with the connectors on (provided they survived the oven test!)
You can weirdly buy Gen2 5.2 batteries in Europe so unsure why they are yet to make it over here?

Edit - also, on topic, busbars FFS guys, just design for them on (ugly) modules like that rather than daisy chaining.

In Github terminology, I see Polar as a fork of Givenergy.

Unfortunately this fork has acquired the "lack of attention to detail" functionality. The video starts with a list of equipment needed, starting with a multimeter and laptop which are never used in the video (and not needed?). The installer uses a crimper and a ring spanner to connect the Keto switch, but these are not in the list of the required equipment. Gloves are in the list of equipment, and would be a really good idea, but aren't worn by either person in the video. This suggests to me that Health and Safety is not a priority at Polar.

I presume the video has been put out to get installers on board before the launch.

On 30th March 2024, Midsummer took delivery of 320 Polar 6kW hybrid Inverters. I guess this would be a container full (8x4x10)? This seems to have been the only delivery. A stock check on Midsummer on 23rd December showed 276 still in stock. So they only sold 44 in 9 months!

April 2025 and they are no longer listed for sale; hoggy's links above no longer work. Is Polar finished? What would Midsummer have done with 276 unwanted inverters?

Company accounts specifically mention that the Polar range proved that difficult to shift they've had to write the UK stock off?
Seems purely an Asia based version of Giv now but with better battery rates (alps cube Pro looks like Gen 3 but with nearly double charge rate)

It may just be a placeholder image but Polar stock might have been disposed of to Powerdog?
