I have had a 2nd battery installed and a hybrid 5 G3 inverter. I have noticed that the soc of the batteries is different. Is this normal or should I recalibrate?

I would say "Get used to it". Sometimes I can see 30-35% split in the SoC on my pair....
As long as the voltages are within 0.5V you're good.
Have a look on the forum, this has been discussed before, but in short, yes they will drift apart. A recalibration will bring them back together but it seems that the chained batteries don’t discharge and charge at an even rate. GivEnergy don’t seem to have a fix for this.
If its working fine then there’s nothing to worry about.
(I only have one battery...) Perhaps they'll back backn into sync either when they get down to minimum, or reach 100% ? [I would hope that when one of them gets to a limit, the other would keep going, rather than just sitting and sulking.]

It's likely down to the daisy chain nature of the batteries where the "master" one is connected to the inverter and the others chain after - the master always seems to do more work (so charges / discharges first and the rest follow on behind) If it were a ring type setup it'd probably alleviate a lot of this but I don't think anyone's tried, nor is it an approved method.
hoggy Probably worth getting the installer to swap them around during install if the existing one has been in use for a while, making the new battery master - assuming same size/gen/etc....
