I have an AIO and am having issues with getting signed up to Intelligent Flux - After several attempts I can log into my GivEnergy account from the set up in the Octopus App but then it just hangs.

I know I am not alone with issues getting set up on Intelligent Flux and hoping that someone can come up with a solution as Octopus are dragging their heels.

TIA.

SH do you have MFA set up on your GE account? Some users find disabling this works

Thanks but not MFA - It's just my email + password.

SH I know there's problems with people that have more than one inverter or more than one battery (can't recall which).

Maybe octopus doesn't support the AIO yet

Technically AIO has zero batteries attached (when you configure it in GivTVP), so if they use similar logic...

Just discovered that Octopus think I need a meter upgrade and I think this has stopped my switch to Intelligent Flux. The crazy thing is that Octopus only replaced my meter in February so I was ready for smart tariffs but hopefully its a glitch that they can now sort out.

SH if that's a message on the octopus account homepage, e.g. near the tariff bits, ignore it.

I had the same issue. I was informed it was a GivEnergy issue by octopus. I contacted GivEnergy who changed the settings on my battery and then I could connect to Intelligent Flux

Leeshore Thanks - please can you tell me anymore about what GE changed?

Not quite sure what it was but he said a firmware update. The remote control entry was:

Thanks!

TX200 I've just discovered that since my new meter was installed that my Export is bot showing on the bill although it is on the App. If the sign up system thinks I haven't got Export maybe this is causing the issue? Anyway I've contacted Octopus about this and hopefully they can easily resolve it.

I have tried twice to sign up and computer says NO.

I have an AIO as well so would be interested to know if anyone else with an AIO manages to sign up please.

I have the same issue. It just fails saying that either the battery is not setup correctly or the credentials are wrong (which they are not). When I hit the 'report an issue' button in the Octopus app at this point the Intelligent Octopus Support Request email that is created says
Battery: null
I have an All In One.

I have been having exactly the same experience with my AIO. Octopus have suggested I contact their helpdesk via phone to discuss. I just need to find a nice long window during the day where I can sit listening to muzac now!

Got the same issue with my AIO.

Rang GE who confirmed all is fine on the GE side. You can check the connection under security settings on the portal.

Getting nowhere with Octopus

So after many emails and exchanges on X... my battery is finally connceted to Octopus....

It looks like I am part way through the process, as they are now planning a smart meter exchange ?> Anyone had this - there isn't a problem with my smart meter as far as I was aware?

Ignore that. If you have a working smart meter they won't physically replace it.

woohoo! I have finally managed to connect too - prompted by your post. It looks live GivEnergy managed to sort Octopus out.

Yes I too have been able to complete the connection, Finally 🙂

AS you all say Octopus are pretty poor at customer support when it comes to solving issues, I have been trying since february to get onto Octopus Intelligent, app says my givenergy account isn't recognised/not connected to internet etc etc, all of which are in fact ok. Having escalated the issue to CEO level, I am now told that although Octopus advertise Intelligent as only working with Givenergy, there is an issue with certain capacity Givenergy batteries and inverters not being able to connect, and no immediate prospect that this will be resolved. Givenergy say there is no logical/technical reason from their side why capacity should affect this. My solar company were very good and tried to sign up via Octopus R&D labs and hay presto, the very same portal that throws up an error on the app, accepts my battery. But unfortunately you can't sign up for Intelligent through R&D, but it does seem to show that it's a fault in the app itself, although how interested Octopus are at wanting to resolve this remains to be seen!

I've had/have the same IOF signup issue. 2FA not turned on, go through the enrolment to give Octopus access to my GivEnergy account, login to GE cloud OK, then get a generic 'make sure your battery is connected' etc message.

But I see the Octopus token has been created in my GivEnergy security settings.

Followed the suggestion of Leeshore and ocntacted GivEnergy support.

What they did for him and for me is to change the inverter type from G99 (5kW) to G98 (3.6kW) and back again. Apparently this causes a 'reset to defaults' of the inverter which has been known to cure some issue.
Didn't cure the IOF enrolment issue for me, same behaviour, token created but then fails on the Octopus side. I have logged it with Octopus via twitter/X and its with their "smart energy team" and has been for a week now.

Oh, and if you do get GivEnergy to try this fix for you, make sure that support correctly reconfigure your inverter afterwards. I found that GivEnergy support had forgotten to turn the Import/Export Meters on afterwards, leaving the inverter not reporting any Import or Export and not working in Eco mode properly for the weekend.

Here's what you should see:

I switched to Octo in April 2020 on their statement that "full functionality would be achieved" and never got decent smart meter connection to allow proper off peak import and peak export billing to occur. The Octo contract states "if half hour readings cannot be transmitted- standard rates will apply". So after investing £15k on panels, inverter, battery etc - i should not have bothered.
In the end I contacted the Ombudsman and Octo turned up (after a dozen different meters over 4 years) and fitted a combined GSM/RF hub with antenna and it all worked in 15mins.
Try moaning on X and then try Ombudsman . Octo/GE are supposed to be working together- get Ombudsman to force them to sort this out.
Good luck

geoffreycoan I had to get Octopus's more smart tariff team (smart@octopus.energy) to unstick mine when onboarding to IOF again this year. The issue may or may not have been similar though given I've been on it before (which onboarded me no worries as customer/victim number 11 to the tariff it seems.)

Daveb01 That seems a very good price, 13.5kW of storage and 11kW of max discharge.

Looking on midsummer solar https://midsummerwholesale.co.uk/buy/giv-energy a 6kW AIO is £6,223, gateway is slightly cheaper at £637, so a pair of AIO’s is over £1,000 more expensive, and a lower discharge rate, and, oh yes, multiple AIO’s is still “coming soon” 🤔
